girls and guys
had lunch with the girls at kenny rogers just now. haven't seen them all for so long! after we polished off the chicken and ribs, walked around suntec and spotted lotsa stuff that we all wanted to buy. braun buffel bag, adidas original bags, giordano denim jacket blahblahblah. i still can't forget the adidas fencing jacket that i saw. its. damn. nice. white with a high collar and fits perfect!! but its a 100 bucksssssss...poOOOOof.
we decided to design our own graphic and print it on 9 same colour shirts in different cuts so we can all wear them one day and parade on the streets!!! ;p
last night's party was o-k. at first e music sounded great with a good mix of genres. then it became full retro.
so we decided to go out and take a look at the many interesting bars along boat quay. and we encountered a waddling, middle-aged, half balding, pot bellied caucasian man.
'hey, do you girls know of any nice/interesting bars to hang out at?'
'oh, maybe you can try that one, it looks quite cool.' (i pointed at the bar across the road, Eski Bar. crowded with caucasians and having shop windows that really frosted up.)
'people like u girls are gonna be there right?'
'actually, no.'
'oh i don't really want to hang around with caucasians, i want a place with lots of chinese girls..'
'i'm sorry we have to go'
wah. sleazeball.
went back to Rav where Mon requested for the organisers to change it to RnB. we only started dancing around 12+ and even then the dance floor was only half full. bleah. and before long at 1+ the dance floor started emptying out?? the crowd lacks stamina. Mon and i hogged the podium and the music was rather slow at first. so we leaned against e bar and slacked. before long the dj teased us.
'hey the 2 girls on the stage are sitting down 'cos no one is applauding for them!!' something like that. followed by cheers from the floor. so we had no choice but to get up and dance. haha.
the world being small, one of B's ex army mates was around. he asked me where was B and i told him we'd broken up.
i don't deny that sometimes i still miss B. i have done my best to live my life post-coupledom as well as i can. but wherever i go, i meet people who know both me and B and think we are still together. of course, it's not anyone's fault. it just brings back some memories that i wish i didn't have to remember.
reminiscing is inevitable and only human. as much as i have tried to forget, the past is still gonna be lingering around. it will never leave. i was used to having a companion 24/7, having someone who would miss me and love me. that dissolved in a matter of days. i would be a big fat liar if i said that i have forgotten everything.
it's as if i've almost pulled myself out of the water onto the boat, yet am just prevented from actually getting on the boat by the waves.
i'm glad that i'm happy with the way things are now and i'm satisfied that i'm not letting myself be dragged back into the vast ocean. swimming with no land in sight is a sick feeling.
just completed packing for my trip. its filled to the brim. and i do mean to the brim. my backpack is so FAT. AAAAAHHHHHH!!! its 9.9 kg. well within the 12kg limit we're allowed to have. yay!
yz has promised to take me on a east-side food chionging trip when i get back. gonna be craving for sgp food when all i can get is sri lankan food..which consists of...i dunno. man-eater crabs maybe. and i'm not gonna miss mambo the week i get back. or go pub hopping again. hehe. and faster get a job! today qiaoz wanted to go FCUK and i told deb 'still wanna go FCUK..my back account is f**k already.' seriously, i need to get off my butt and work!
dinner with my family before going to the airport! will be gone till 14june. will miss my family and my friends the most.. yes MMMM. i'll miss you loads. remember my brown cow! ;)

blog fever
bah. i suck at all the html shit and formatting of my posts...and the colour scheme..i'm still not happy with it but i'm just too lazy to continue discovering the wonders of...html?java? script. blogging is tough.went for pre-departure meeting this morning. (gosh. it's already 4.40 pm!??!) the press was there and we had an informal discussion with Dr. Yacobs, minister for...erm. i'm not too sure about that. he's a rather nice guy actually, i didn't even realise he was the minister as he was at the door, receiving and ushering us in. maybe politicians aren't as intimidating as they seem to be. they're humans after all. we sat in a circle, with the cameras hovering about us. my team leader introduced each of us and we were just chit chatting for about 10 mins before Dr. Yacobs had to go. so we took photos (yes! just like what you see on tv!) with our banner, smiling for this camera and that. after which we still had to fake discussions to set the background for the team members being interviewed. haha. should appear on suria tonight.going with mon-mamamia for a party at Rav later. last party before being cut off from civilisation for 2 weeks. actually i can't wait to get out of sgp, even if it's to toil under the sun and sleep on the floor. just want a different life for a moment. remind me to squirrel away the pillow from the plane =)wondering what mmmm is wearing later? i think i'm wearing a skirt for a change. jeans are good but plain after some time!

a night of 2 bored people
last night isaac and i were bored. so we went on a pub-hop and all-e-way-to-e-other-side-of-the-island-for-supper adventure.
picked him up at 9 and went Acid Bar (AGAIN.) where wendy and gabriel were performing for the night. had a lychee daiquiri while he got a tom collins. got bored after awhile.
drove down to magazine road and went to Blue Bar where there was a live band playing too. apparently mr kwan's a super regular and once we got in his bottle of beam appeared at the table. i had a brown cow though.
we hanged out for a couple of hours and went off... decided that we could do with some supper and drove alllllll the way to bedok blk 85 to look for the much revered bak chor mee.
erm. there were TWO stalls which had newspaper cuttings and posters plastered all over. whatever. we just picked one and ordered. was not bad, cept they use meatballs and minced meat only. where's my mushrooms!??
then drove allllll the way to bukit timah to send him home and then i went home.

jack kicks ass
was at acid bar just now and ray and jack were performing! we sat REAL close to them. right next to them. and jack said we broke e record for the proximity in seating.
i go all silent whenever they sing.
jack dedicated the song 'collide' to us and i passed a coaster asking for a john mayer since we were record breakers. and so we got 'why georgia'.

country to country
headed for school in the morning for rag music meeting. i was the early one as usual! and choosing music turns out to be a uphill task. we're still stuck, heh.
leaving for galle, sri lanka in 5 days. Have yet to start packing! i’m supposed to squeeze everything into a backpack and not let it weigh more than 12kg. that’s gonna be so tough. only the essentials. plus, my hairspray, sunglasses, moisturizers and contact lenses. maybe a pocket mirror. what if they don’t have mirrors over in the villager’s house? then i can’t style my hair. that’s a big no-no. better bring the mirror.
gonna be teaching teachers and kids over there how to use the comp and start some reading programmes in their school. they’re gonna get their first computer lab done up! and they have leapt right to Pentium 4. uh huh. hopefully i’ll be a good enough teacher =) am still trying to grasp basic Sinhalese.
will also be putting together wooden beds and shelves for the families living in temporary shelters. poor souls had their homes swept away by the tsunami and they’ll have to make do with temporary homes. new furniture to prepare them for the wet monsoon ahead! it’ll be nice for them to have a proper bed to tuck their kids into instead of those flimsy army-style ones.
i think this trip will do me much good and hopefully i’ll appreciate all that’s around me more. life in sgp is cushy and comfortable and oh so familiar. to the extent that we don’t know that we’re probably one of the luckiest around. which country in the world has everything so perfectly planned out for them? from child-bearing to casino-building, from the mrt to the great sgp workouts, every single detail has been laid out. masterplan for the next 849 years? possibly out. personally i'd prefer things to be planned spontaneously. president says 'sgp bash'. nation says 'get it on the floor'. malibu pineapple appears in our rivers.
gonna go for dinner with crys n gang now!!

it's wierd. yet it's kinda refreshing, how a guy can get THAT direct. i suppose everyone has experienced the 'irritating' mind games, and yet at the same time enjoy the rising heart rates uncertainty brings. in the process producing fried brains. human instinct makes us reach out for the things that don't seem too possible, because only when u have done the impossible will you feel invincible.
so. i was frankly pleasantly surprised to receive such msgs. saved me from clawing through my grey matter. not that i'm falling for the guy. as can be deduced from the msgs, i barely know him. i can't even remember how he looks like.
anyway. have to think before i act. somehow after the break up a little more than a month ago, trusting became a little of a problem. even the sweetest darling can turn into an ass hole overnight. luckily my friends kept me going. i hang out with them loads now and couldn't be happier.
i'm supposed to msg back. but i haven't. let me sleep on it.
