drama night
while trying to squeeze out of phuture, some girl (or idiot) puked right in the middle of everybody. you know how crowded that place can be, so i really pity the persons who were right around her. i seriously don't know if the person right in front of her had a puke splattered back. that would be hilarious.

ha ha ha.

or maybe not. *scrowl*

Shijia and i were about 1.5m to the side of that girl, and we had like specks of her product on our toes. ohmygawditsdamngrossla. we were complaining all the way along the journey to the toilet to wash our toes. yuck yuck yuck.

other than that, it was quite a fun night and everyone was there. i must have met 10 pple i know.

i thought the action was over when the music ended, but when we were leaving and i was walking to the cab stand, some moronic guy was running towards my direction like someone gonna kill him. i didn't have time to react before he slammed his shoulder into mine and continue on his escape. and so i was knocked down. my fall could have made it on tv.

asshole!!!!!!!!!!!!! i was so damn pissed off, but couldn't find the guy. URGHHHHHHHH.

joyful sin
damage incurred over the past week

lip polish: stila
salmon red long sleeve: mango
beige sequinned top: mango
white cotton pants: dorothy perkins
salsa dance course: jitterbugs
blue jeans: fcuk

don't ask me the total financial cost. i only just got the jeans after signing up for the dance course this afternoon. was walking through citylink mall with Yz when we saw the Fcuk shop with the big bright unmistakable red SALE posters. i didn't expect to buy anything, but unfortunately there was a single pair of nice jeans in size 8. so i tried it on, still preparing to toss it back to the shelves.

but it fit perfect!!!
hahaahahahahhahahahahaha!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

it hugs my butt like a second skin!!!!!

AND, its 70PERCENT OFF. WWAHHHHAAAHAHAAA.

Mon!! we both found The Jeans in this GSS!!!

fast and lethal
baileys + jack daniels + absolut kurrant shots gets you there in record time. i still feel kinda sleepy now.

on a more awake note, i just completed Memoirs of a Geisha. borrowed it from Kenneth but i might go get one for myself. it's such a fabulous read, i happily spent 3 nights just digesting it. i only realised it's actually fiction at the end of the book, when all through the book i was thinking it was a true story. names have been changed and plots thickened, but nonetheless it felt very real and close to the heart. right now am reading Mayada: Daughter of Iraq, which is about a woman's experience in Saddam Hussein's torture chambers.

alrights, gotta go change and meet Danny and gang. we're gonna go watch Jiahe's band perform! =)

battle within the female sex
ever wondered how women go to war?

experience the seasonal Mango sale.

politically right tactics: step into any Mango store, brimming with confidence and with card in wallet. start from front of store, and sieve through racks and piles of clothes with your dainty fingers, taking care not to scratch any of them. avoid stepping on fellow shoppers or fallen clothes. smile when you're queuing for the changing rooms to make up for the maximum 6 pieces of clothes that you're holding. after trying, thank the changing room assistant and proceed to cashier to pay. satisfied customer.

however, when in an actual warzone, shit happens and the common tactics do not apply.

step into the store full of confidence, card in wallet rule still applies. after scanning the store, a scrowl appears on the face. nevertheless, one will elbow through the crowd to get to THAT PAIR OF PANTS I SO WANT. trudging through air thickened by mingling perfumes, carving out pathways about guys who block the way, to find that there are no sizes left!!!! *screams* so she flips through every piece of clothing, in the process hurling unattractive pieces to the other end of the shelf, hoping to find a substitute. or substitutes. she grabs hold of this orange sleeve, only to find another woman picking it up by the collar. they smile sweetly at each other.

the venusian mind probably works like this.

'let go of my top, you B*#%^***'
'that's the last one in my size *heart pounds* *head swivels* '
'can she get out of my way so i won't have to smell her hair.'
'why's she wearing pants that make her butt look like ba zhang.'
'oh my gawd shes so old and she's getting THAT???'

oh well. that's how women go to war.

va-va-vroommmm
caught Initial D just now. it was quite good, though i still think they didn't show enough of edison. anthony wong is damn funny in the show!

fast cars look real good in movies. but in real life i guess it's a great risk to be a race car driver. they might just die at the spilt second they fumble with their brakes, accelerator, gear shifting, a sharp turn and whatever else they could fumble with and lose control.

makes me recall an accident scene that i saw sometime in april.

at the intersection where lornie road and the road leading out from singapore island country club meet, a sleek black bike was on its side, broken in several places. i can't remember how many cars were involved, but when i passed by the ambulance and police were there, and this poor guy was on the orange stretcher with a neck brace.

phew, he's alive.

and as per normal procedures, the big blue sign that asked for witnesses was put up a few days later. 'Serious accident' with the print of a car crashing into a bike. the next times i passed the road i always looked at the sign.

about 10 days later it was altered to read 'Fatal accident'.

sigh. poor guy. bikers are always the ones who lose out in an accident, whether they are at fault or not. i hope none of my friends....*touchwood*.

*cough*
woke up feeling like my throat's had sandpaper run through it. i thought i felt feverish, but the thermometer registered 36.1. hmm. anyway i spent so much time struggling to get out of bed even with the alarm going off 3 times and a wake up call from a friend, i was a whole 40 minutes late for my rag meeting. not that they had started. heh.

the rag event seems pretty well planned out so far. the float's construction has started and the dance, i would say, is 70% done. costume wise they have gotten a whole lot of free cloth from arab street, so we save money!!

met some hall raggers in the canteen and boy do they look exhausted. hall rag is nothing like faculty rag. the rivalry is much more intense and they do everything to keep out sabotage and spies. not like us, still monkeying around and taking our own sweet time (for now.). when the freshies come in we've gotta speed up.

last couple of days were spent accompanying Mon to school to fix her laptop which fell off her bed when she dozed off, watching batman, and attending precamp. am now feeling tired even though they aren't even close to moderate activity.

i wanna watch Initial D! edison chen is, as my friend said, picture perfect. i'm yearning for the movie solely because of him. jordan chan's not bad too, with the bad-boy-sleek-moves image he carries off with style. i just don't understand why edison's not the lead!!! URGH. anyway, people have been saying that the real comic is way better than the movie but i haven't an inkling what Initial D's about, so i'm just gonna enjoy the film itself. and have my mouth drop open when edison appears.

the is The Life
danny, jiahe and i went for a baking session today.

at 10+am, we met up at harbourfront bus terminal and took the shuttle to sentosa, then the yellow line and beach tram to tanjong beach.

wanted to check out km8, but there was an event this evening so the whole area was kinda cordoned up and lost its open concept feel. oh well. so we spread out our towels and started to sun tan!!!

(while i was changing, danny and jiahe looked like 2 gays slathering on tanning oil on each other. oooh, your hands! heh. sorry guys.)

i was appointed official time keeper so the kebabs wouldn't be overcooked.

back sides up! 11.30.

12.00, sunny sides up!

12.30. into the water *sizzle*

afterwhich we went over to Coastes for a nice lunch by the sea. sausages, spaghetti, beef burger, washed down with hoegaarden white, mojito and strawberry daiquiri. jiahe was red at the end of lunch, dunno if its the beer or the sun though ;)

then we went to siloso for one more round of bake-flip-bake routine.

'ahhhhh it's damn hottttt'
'perserverence!!'
'focus!!'
'i can't take it.'
*sizzle*

but it was a real good trip. we have decided to make this a weekly habit, together with charissa who was unable to make it today due to work commitments. a bintan chill&intoxicate trip is next up on our itinenary. yesss!!! weekend awaaaaayyy from sgp with nothing but sun sea sand and booze. i can't wait.

yesterday was the first time i did waitressing and it's not such an easy job actually. the dishes are heavy. but i don't mind working because it's on a freelance basis and provides a little extra cushion for my bank account, which is in danger of depleting very soon. because i just bought another top just now!!!! ARRRGGHHH. but i think i might exchange it for some other top, as this one i won't get to wear it that often. just to make my $45 go a longer way. i hope.

watched Mr & Mrs Smith just now too. i'm amazed by how hot angelina jolie can look in a dirty white men's shirt and maroon boots. with sexy out-of-bed hair. no wonder guys go crazy about her. i like her eyes though.

maybe she'll make me want to start working out, no?

red ah beng
went mambo-ing last night. gosh. it feels good to go clubbing again!

quite a few things happened though. B was there. and H was high. H asked if D was my boyfriend. and D knew a girl that Y wanted to know. A was high too and so S got pissed. talk about chain relations. and S's friend L got into a fight. i dunno the details though. bumped into J whom i haven't seen for a couple of years. everyone was there! supposed to talk to SH but circumstances thwarted our plans for girl gossip. argh! have to put it off till later then.

wondered why i titled this post red ah beng? cos there was one right on the podium, dishing out all the gay moves that Y didn't hesitate to imitate. my gawd. red ah beng is the ultimate mambo dancer that could entertain anyone the whole night. he ties his red shirt into a midriff and invites other guys to paw him. he has sluttier facial expressions than any B-grade actress. if considered on the common guy-o-meter, he scores a perfect zero.

wished MMMM was there with me.

E didnt get drunk as promised. aww. missed a good show.

oh yeah saw C too who just knew H.

the world is just too small =)

kampung girl
i'm finally back in civilisation.

okay maybe not that extreme, but 2 weeks of life in Sri Lanka is enough to make me treasure everything a little more.

there's just so much to tell, i don't know where to start or what to include here. when i first got there there was somewhat of a culture shock. the whole town is fly infested. villagers walk into our house compound just because. crumbled houses by the dozens. stray dogs rummage through our rubbish. try to get off the bus only to find the door clogged up with people struggling to get on. huge crashing waves.

but its in this place where i find happy and contented children, villagers who are willing to share what little they have, the gentle sea breeze, new friends, beautiful sunsets.

so i come back taking things a little easier, appreciating simple things around me. here's a list of things that i did for the first time:

rooftop star gazing with 13 friends.
cooking for 14.
doing laundry on a concrete platform with monkeys staring at me.
hacking open coconuts for fresh juice.
eating freshly slaughtered chickens (and i do mean freshly slaughtered).
having friendly neighbours who welcomed us into their houses even though we were total strangers, and serve us fantastic ceylon tea.
see such happy school children.
bathing with only a curtain for a toilet door.
live without water heater for 2 weeks.
leave the house door open all the time.
eat iced yoghurt (it's pink and green!) from a tiny plastic sachet.
walk around a village with my towel still wrapped around my head.
live without hair conditioner for 2 weeks.
visit a garment factory that manufactures what is seen at our pasar malams here.
scrub clothes everyday.
get swarmed by kids.
get swarmed by flies as well (the flies are EVERYWHERE).
construct wooden beds and shelves.
paint a mural.
eat using my hands.
use the husk of the coconut as a spoon.
have dogs walking with us to school.
erm. saw dogs in action. gays? they were in a wiiieeerrrdd position...
a flooded computer lab. spanking new computers soaked through.
get excitied over the sri lankan plain tea bun. it's plain and a little sweet so i call it the sweet bread and can eat 3 at a go.
play volleyball in an open field with village boys.
experience 2 blackouts in one night.
celebrate a birthday during a blackout.
spring cleaned a kitchen.
have potatoes and eggs everyday.
swing in a hammock by the galle coast at 7am in the morning. i wish i could do that everyday of my life.
swim in a pool with freezing cold water on a kandyan mountain.
watch the sunset upon an old Dutch fort.
catch couples making out in every nook and cranny in the fort. they are how horny.

visit camps for internally displaced persons and witness life after the tsunami.

these experiences alone have made my 2 weeks in Galle and Kandy more than worthwhile. am already dreaming of going backpacking next year this time. maybe to india? Gab's keen on the idea too. and hopefully more friends will be!! hehe. till next year then =)
